Life Imitates Art

this isnt going to be some deep or philosophical entry, just a statement of something that happens to me a lot. usually, it occurs with music. for instance, on multiple occasions when ive been listening to radiohead's 'hail to the thief' and the 2nd song, "sit down, stand up" gets to the end, it says "the raindrops" right as rain starts hitting my windshield. there are lots of songs that mention cigarettes that ive heard when smoking, and then of course "i fought the law" always comes on whenever ive gotten in some trouble. finally, the incident that made me write this was last night. as i drove home i was listening to modest mouse "this is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about" song 2, "breakthrough" and right as the singer sang "open your window" it is exactly what i was doing. i dont really know why i felt led to post this, i guess i think its interesting how often it happens.

Whenever I hear CCR's "Bad Moon Rising" I always know something bad is going to happen. It's kind of creepy.

I had a couple of musical karma moments, both geographic, on the drive to and from J-Rod's wedding this weekend. As I was turning from I-75 North onto I-64 East, the Lousiville NPR station started playing some acoustic guitar piece called "North to South, East to West." Even better, as I crossed the state line back into Tennessee this afternoon, the Coldplay song "Clocks" hit the line, "Home, where I wanted to roam." Just wanted to let you know.
