well i finally got on covenant's new high speed connection so i feel like blogging again. i just really began to hate dial up this summer at the parents house so i didnt feel like using anything but dsl. now im back.
it is so good to be back and see all my friends. i missed ya'll so much cuz i really had no one to hang with at home. its also good to be blogging again. i havent blogged in like 5 weeks cuz i just ran out of things to say and then i suddenly left for school a week early so i could just hang out for a week and actually enjoy my summer.
i have tickets for the radiohead and built to spill concerts in atlanta in october which will be bad ass. i also have tickets for the first or second braves' division series game which i am looking forward to. i really hope they go to the series this year b/c ive never seen a series game and as a matter of fact ive never seen the home team win a playoff game. here's the list: ive seen all three of the rangers' home division series games and they played the yankees in all 6 games and lost horribly. the astros have always played the braves and lost equally horribly. ive seen the braves twice. once in game 5 of the nlcs in 2001 in which the d-backs clinched the pennant (andruw jones threw me a game ball in centerfield) and the other was in the division series last year against the giants also a loss. so they better, like, win and stuff or something. this pennant race is the most exciting in recent memories, especially in the nl central and wildcard. i would love for the cubs to win but since im pro-anything texas ive gotta pull for the stros. and ive got two marlins on my pitching staff so i gotta pull for them to win the wild card.
my SIP topic will be on the ideologies of che guevara and fidel castro and what friction may have xisted between them and why as well as why che's revolution only really worked in cuba. should be fun, but senior seminar is a major bitch.
thats all for now except that for all you foosball "players" in chatty, josiah and i are ready to whup some ass. give him a call, he'll call me.
Is that a challenge? Bring it on! (To be quite honest you guys probably would kick our butts.)
Posted by: John at September 24, 2003 9:11 AMAre you a history major?? My class was the first to go through that seminar! It was crazy!!! It pretty much gave us no. life. However, it was better prep for grad school than anything else at Cov. It's much more enjoyable if you cajole Dr. Green to let you have class in the bottom floor lobby of Sanderson.
Posted by: Jeannette at September 24, 2003 10:26 AMwell it's about damn time.
Posted by: gosey at September 24, 2003 11:29 AMJust wait till I get back DP. . .then you can kick my ass again.
Go Cubs!
Posted by: steele at September 24, 2003 12:07 PMi am a history major and dr. green is still teaching it, but we have it in the new jackson building. if your last name was dibernardo (i apologize for any possible misspelling) then he actually mentioned you in class on the first day because you called "senior torture seminar" and most of our class is quickly following that opinion.
Posted by: dp at September 24, 2003 12:41 PMI wrote a report in the 10th grade on the exact same topic as your SIP. Really.
Posted by: nAT at September 24, 2003 3:45 PMis that an offer? does it happen to be like 40 pages long?
Posted by: dp at September 24, 2003 6:02 PMWelcome back. I was beginning to wonder if you had fallen off the face of the earth.
You've been to more postseason baseball than me; I'm 0 for forever.
Do you still want to play fantasy with us next year? There are definite perks to making an early commitment. Just e-mail me.
Posted by: the booth at September 25, 2003 12:10 AMyeah, im in still. count me in.
Posted by: dp at September 25, 2003 2:22 AMYea. That's me. I was babysitting for the Greens and his schedule was on the fridge for his wife, so I cleverly inserted the appropriate adjective for the seminar. Seriously, though, imagine how much work it is for him? All that freakin' grading!!? yikes. I'd rather be a student than the professor.
Posted by: Jeannette at September 25, 2003 10:21 AMwell it seems the solution then is to get rid of it altogether...
