i've read a lot about the latest outkast album in my rollingstone over the past few issues. (and even though it only got 3 stars of 5) i decided to check it out. ive only heard the speakerboxxx disc by big boi, but as best a white man who's into everything but hip hop can say, its pretty damn swell. and this is the disc that hasnt had the hit single yet, and neither is big boi the supposed better of the two rappers. but the funk-tinged sounds combined with the sing-a-long refrains found on many if not all of speakerboxxx's tracks could and can keep a party rockin, perhaps even take it to the next level. and to date, thats the only practical use ive found for most hip hop. im not racist or anything.
